NETHERLANDS: ADE Dance & Brands, the Amsterdam Dance Event’s sub-conference focused on commerce and creativity in the dance music industry, has revealed its first keynote speaker. Raphael Aflalo, CEO and co-founder of My Love Affair, an agency specialising in forging creative partnerships between brands and artists, will share his insights on October 20.
During his appearance Aflalo will be presenting a series of case studies on how My Love Affair has worked with a wide range of dance artists, as well as offering his view of this growing market, followed by a Q&A session with the audience. “By the time of My Love Affair’s launch, the company had already secured various campaigns and partnerships between high-profile artists and DJs such as David Guetta, Avicii, will.i.am, Steve Aoki, Nervo, Lenny Kravitz, Iggy Pop, Justin Bieber, and Maroon 5 with internationally known brands like Tag Heuer, G.H.Mumm, HP, Renault, Sony Mobile, P&G, IWC, Alcatel, and Nestlé,” he commented.
My Love Affair was launched in 2011 by Aflalo and his business partners David and Cathy Guetta. “Their vision was clear: brands and artists have a lot to bring to each other and, while artists are striving to find a long-term business model, brands are constantly trying to create unique environments for consumers. My Love Affair links brands directly to personalities through different means of communication such as endorsement, digital activations, product placement in music videos, and event partnerships,” he added. Previously Aflalo worked at Omnicom Media Group as managing director of the company’s digital department, and before that he founded his own digital agency Pure Player in 1999.
ADE Dance & Brands is a joint initiative of ADE, BBP Media and First Day of Spring where global brands present their cases, DJs highlight their partnerships, and managers, connectors, philosophers and creatives all explain how creativity can flourish with the help of commercial resources.
