
Afro Nation has revealed another international superstar to join the celebration. Rounding off an impressive run of lineup announcements for this monumental edition, R&B icon Chris Brown has been announced as the final headliner for Afro Nation Portugal 2025.
Taking place from 9–11 July 2025 on the golden sands of Praia da Rocha beach for the landmark 5th anniversary year, Afro Nation once again unites the international music community for an unforgettable celebration of music, fashion, food, and dance.
Chris Brown remains one of the most influential figures in contemporary R&B, continuously pushing the boundaries of the genre. Off the back of his new album ‘11:11’, Chris Brown’s presence at Afro Nation Portugal will bring another dimension to the already vibrant lineup, offering fans an electrifying live experience celebrating 20 years of his career.
Fans have been eagerly waiting to see him grace the beach stage once again and Afro Nation is answering the call from the community. Renowned for out of this world production levels and flawless choreography, Chris Brown’s shows are a masterclass in live entertainment. As well as bringing out surprise guest Rema at Afro Nation Portugal 2022, Chris Brown’s love and respect for Afrobeats extends to several hit collaborations. One of his most recent link ups was between fellow Afro Nation Portugal 2025 headliner Davido, and Lojay, with the Grammy and BET Awards-nominated ‘Sensational’.
Chris Brown has further strengthened his connection to the African continent recently, performing to sold-out stadiums in South Africa. His shows in Johannesburg and Cape Town were a testament to how his sound resonates deeply with fans of Afrobeats, Amapiano and beyond. His presence at Afro Nation Portugal sees a continuation in his commitment to embrace and celebrate the global influence of African music.
Chris Brown will take to the LIT Stage, headlining alongside an elite lineup of Afrobeats stars Burna Boy, Davido and Tems – the first female African artist to headline Afro Nation. Leading French rapper Booba will be joined by the Queen of R&B, Mary J. Blige, who is set to deliver a special sunset set backed by a full live band, whilst the Piano People Stage will play host to the hottest South African artists including Uncle Waffles, Scorpion Kings, DBN Gogo and many more.
