Skiddle and Music Minds Matter unite to champion mental health in music

Skiddle has partnered with mental health charity Music Minds Matter to help reach more people working in music to provide support for their mental health and wellbeing.

Early findings from an ongoing study being conducted by the platform revealed that 80% of people working behind the scenes in live music experience stress and anxiety. In response, Skiddle have financially supported the charity to make a meaningful difference in their community and beyond.

By joining forces, the two organisations will address the challenges faced by those working in music. Throughout 2025, they will host a series of industry-focused events, including roundtables, workshops, and panel discussions, fostering a culture of support and understanding. Skiddle and Music Minds Matter will also work closely with promoters and other industry stakeholders to raise awareness about the importance of and need for
long-term mental health initiatives.

The partnership reflects Skiddle’s commitment to looking after the people who make live events happen. By working together, Skiddle and Music Minds Matter hope to ensure that everyone – whether they are on the stage, behind the scenes, on the road, in an office or in the studio – has access to the support and resources they need to continue to thrive.
In 2024, Music Minds Matter delivered over 5,000 interventions to over 3,000 individuals, investing over £1m into mental health support for people working in music in the UK. However, there is a growing need, and the charity can only meet that need through the invaluable support of partners and funders.

Grace Meadows, Head of Music Minds Matter, said: “This partnership greatly contributes to our mission to support the mental health of everyone working in music. By joining forces with Skiddle, who are actively championing mental health, we can provide vital support and resources to their network, driving meaningful change and increasing awareness across the music industry. Music Minds Matter is only able to reach all those who need it through the generous support of our partners, and we’re delighted to work with Skiddle as we continue our drive to reach everyone who needs us now and in the future.”

Duncan King, Head of Festivals & Partnerships at Skiddle, said: “We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with Music Minds Matter, reinforcing Skiddle’s commitment to positive mental health in the live events industry. Working closely with the independent sector, we’ve seen firsthand the pressures faced by promoters and venue operators.”
