Melton Mowbray Town Estate has launched The Melton Pop Festival, a one-day live music event taking place on 21st June 2025 featuring top-tier tribute acts to Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, and Ed Sheeran. The festival will be hosted in Play Close Park, a five-acre event-ready space adjacent to the town centre and railway station.
Dean Rees, CEO of Melton Mowbray Town Estate, commented: “The Melton Pop Festival is designed to have a broad appeal. We are committed to making Melton Mowbray a thriving hub for live events and cultural experiences in the region, providing organisers with a well-equipped, easily accessible venue. We are centrally located in the UK with strong transport links, and an event-ready venue. We are actively inviting event organisers, promoters, and industry professionals to explore the opportunities available here.”
The Melton Pop Festival adds to the Town Estate’s growing portfolio of events and positions Melton Mowbray as an ideal venue for small and medium-sized outdoor events. Over the past 12 months, the Town Estate has made significant investments in event infrastructure and supply chain partnerships, ensuring that Play Close Park is equipped to deliver high-quality event experiences for organisers and attendees. Recent investments include improved power and water provision to accommodate larger-scale productions, agreements with F&B providers, security and stewarding teams, first aid services, and production companies to ensure seamless event delivery.
All events at Play Close Park meet and exceed Purple Guide standards, providing best practices in crowd management, safety, and accessibility. These investments enable event organisers to host outdoor festivals, live performances, community events, and specialist shows with full venue support and operational efficiency.
Melton Mowbray Town Estate has an expanding portfolio of live events that include Melton SKA Fest, Melton Motor Pageant, Melton Victorian Christmas Fair, and Melton May Day Festival. The introduction of The Melton Pop Festival further cements the town’s reputation as a go-to destination for high-quality, mid-sized events in the East Midlands.
