Now the only International Production Meeting in Europe, EPFE24 will take place on the 28th October in Budapest Arena, Hungary.
In its ninth year, EPFE24, epfe.eu, which was initially to serve CEE, has grown in relevance and attendance from further afield, to now justify its new title.
Founder, Carl A H Martin, says, “The day is designed to give positive advice and thoughts for the future and, we are proud to say, what is discussed tends to become subject matter at conferences held after EPFE24.
The day consists of four 75-minute discussion panels, plus a 30-minute lunchtime head to head session. Unlike elsewhere, delegates on the floor are encouraged get involved immediately, none of this 10-minute Q+A, at the end of people talking at you for an hour or more..
Those on the panels come from Hungary, Ireland, Slovenia, UK, New Zealand, Serbia and Croatia, a diverse mixture. Delegates are from Germany, Poland, Holland, Sardinia, etc., as well as the above countries..”
Subjects this year include Education, or the lack of it, in the events industry throughout Europe. This subject was discussed last year, and later at another European event, from both of which came more positive thoughts. These will be talked through further by those with knowledge and experience from throughout Europe.
“Brave New World” is a panel at which technologies and changing thoughts and activities will be discussed, to encourage change for the good and make life simpler in the future.
The lunch time session will feature a qualified Psychologist from Hungary, who is also doing a PhD focusing on workaholism and toxic productivity in discussion with someone with similar capabilities and interest. We live in an industry which destroys peoples’ mental health, we want this session to help people realise how to look after themselves..
Although this next subject, Health, Safety and Security, has been discussed a million times, we still need to listen and learn for the future. Panellists from the Film and TV industry (a huge growth market in Hungary), Festivals, the international Staging world and Sports will talk, with the delegates, about how to improve life.
The panels finish with the “Dinosaur Session”, Carl A H Martin will talk to Bryan Grant and Mike Lowe from Britannia Row Productions who, in the 70’s, started to supply audio equipment which was initially Pink Floyd’s and not always in use. Both are still involved in the company which now offers high end Audio equipment and personnel to the music and event industry. There are lots of commercial (and personal) stories to come from the both of them…
In the evening the event continues far more informally, when free food and drink are partaken and everyone mixes
