Trawsnewid : Transform returns to Aberystwyth

Following the sellout first edition of Trawsnewid : Transform in February 2024, Aberystwyth Arts Centre and FOCUS Wales have teamed up once again to announce the second edition of the festival, which will take place in Aberystwyth, on the west coast of Wales, across the 21st & 22nd February 2025.

Aberystwyth Arts Centre and FOCUS Wales have invited a selection of Wales’ leading artists to perform at the two day event, to create unique audio visual experiences, which will showcase the venue, the region, and of course the artists, in a special setting. The festival team are working with local artists and promoters across the region, creating a new opportunity for creatives to develop their work by collaborating with the arts centre and FOCUS Wales on this special event.

Headlining the festival, following their recent UK top 20 debut album release, are one of the UK’s most exciting live bands, Fat Dog, and the equally exciting Welsh Music Prize shortlisted, CVC. Elsewhere, the lineup highlights the broad range of high quality music coming out of Wales across multiple genres, and will include Melin Melyn, Das Koolies (featuring 4 members of the legendary Welsh band Super Furry Animals), Islet, Tara Bandito, Pys Melyn, Mace The Great, Seazoo, Afrocluster, Ani Glass, Red Telephone, Mari Mathias, Gillie, Mellt, Adjua, Eye, Ffenest, Kizzy Crawford, and many more still to be announced.

Deputy Director of Aberystwyth Arts Centre, Louise Amery said “We’re really pleased to be working with our friends at FOCUS Wales again to present another edition of Trawsnewid festival in February 2025. We’re looking forward to a real celebration of vision and sound over the weekend as an amazing line-up of musicians and artists from across Wales assemble in Aberystwyth to ‘take over’ the Arts Centre. It’s going to be fantastic!”
