Many readers will be well aware of the Purple Guide and its immense value to the outdoor events and festival industry. For some years, it has been in the care of the Events Industry Forum, overseen by the Health and Safety Executive.
The chapters are written by voluntary sub-groups and chaired by that specific subject leader. All of these people are now being asked to review their chapter and make any changes they feel appropriate, or even necessary. In some cases, it will be none, in others it will be considerable. In addition to that we have new legislation e.g. The Protect Duty (Martyn’s Law) as well as management of pathogens in the event of a pandemic.
Should any readers wish to be involved in the review of any chapters, EIF would be very happy to hear from you. The work is voluntary and for the benefit of the wider outdoor events industry.
