UK: Ticket Arena and Event Genius have served over one million customers using radio-frequency identification (RFID) cashless payments in the last 12 months, new figures show.
The statistics, released by the Leeds-based primary ticket seller and event technology provider, reveal that customers used Event Genius’ RFID solution to make over three million payment transactions. That’s the equivalent of 7.5% of all the card payments (40.5 million) made every day in the UK.
From data analysed across numerous RFID payment enabled events, the Event Genius team also reports that event organisers see a 10-25% increase in overall customer spending and have, in some cases, collected 25% of their total revenue in advance online credit top-up sales before the event had even begun.
With the additional benefits of significantly reduced queuing time for attendees, fewer cash handling errors, less theft and better data insights into customer purchasing habits available, RFID cashless payments are becoming increasingly popular within the industry.
Reshad Hossenally, Managing Director at Ticket Arena & Event Genius, said: “We’re delighted to have passed the one million customers milestone with our robust RFID cashless payments solution.”
“When implemented properly by the experts in the Event Genius team, RFID cashless payments are proven to improve the overall experience for customers as well as reduce overheads for organisers.”
