Brighten The Corners Announce First Wave

Brighten The Corners Festival has unveiled the initial lineup for its 2025 edition, set to take place on 13th and 14th June. This year’s festival promises an eclectic mix of genres and talents, showcasing both emerging and established artists across five stages in Ipswich.

Leading the charge is post-punk powerhouse Dry Cleaning, joined by an eclectic mix of exciting artists including Lime Garden, corto.alto, Gruff Rhys, JD Cliffe, Mermaid Chunky, DEADLETTER, oreglo, Rich(ard) Dawson, THE NONE, The Orchestra (For Now) and W. H. Lung, with many more to be announced.

Beyond the headliners, Brighten The Corners Festival continues its mission to champion innovative and genre-defying artists.

● Lime Garden – One of the most exciting new bands in the UK indie scene, Lime Garden have been turning heads with their infectious mix of post-punk, synth-pop, and indie rock. Their energetic live shows have earned them a dedicated following, and they’re poised for an even bigger break in 2025.
● corto.alto – The brain-child of Mercury Award nominated multi-instrumentalist, composer & producer Liam Shortall, corto.alto brings a fresh perspective to a heady mix of intuitive improvisation, electronic production, broken beat bounce and bass-heavy dub.
● DEADLETTER – DEADLETTER delivers sharp, politically charged post-punk with relentless energy. With angular guitars, driving basslines, and a frontman who commands attention, their music is thought-provoking and invigorating.
● W. H. Lung – Starting off as a studio-only three-piece shrouded in mystery, Manchester’s W. H. Lung have evolved across three acclaimed full lengths into one of the UK’s most exciting live acts & a forward-thinking synth-pop powerhouse.

Brighten The Corners Festival has quickly become a staple in the UK’s independent festival circuit, bringing the best new and established artists to Ipswich.
Marcus Neal, Programmer said: “We are so pleased to announce the initial wave of artists for our 2025 event including Dry Cleaning, our first headliners, who we have been trying to entice to Ipswich since their first single back in 2019. The programme as a whole continues our tradition of showcasing a broad spectrum of emerging artists across a wide range of genres from indie to folk, electronic jazz to noise-rock and beyond. We look forward to unveiling further names, including our second headline act, in the coming weeks.”
