Timberlake and QOTSA to Make Electric Castle Debuts in 2025

Electric Castle returns in 2025 for another unforgettable five days of 24hr non-stop music and magic in Transylvania.

The first wave of artists sets the stage for one of Europe’s most exciting festival lineups: Justin Timberlake, Queens of the Stone Age, Justice, and Bicep present Chroma AV DJ Set, are the leading names of a stacked bill. Outside the vibrant city of Cluj-Napoca, the grounds of Banffy Castle will once again come alive, between 16-20th July 2025.

American superstar Justin Timberlake will be making his Romanian debut at Electric Castle next summer. One of the best-selling pop artists of all time, Timberlake has sold over 54 million albums and 63 million singles as a solo artist, along with another 70 million albums as part of *NSYNC. Also making their debut at the festival next summer will be Queens of the Stone Age.

Electro legends Justice, renowned for their genre-defining electronic music, return with a spectacular show centred on their latest album HYPERDRAMA. Featuring collaborations with Tame Impala, Thundercat, and Miguel, their high-energy performance at the castle will also include fan favourites from their debut album The Cross, which established them as pioneers and earned them two Grammy Awards.

One of the most important and influential electronic outfits of recent years, Bicep will bring their groundbreaking audiovisual Chroma: AV DJ Set to Electric Castle, promising an unforgettable journey into electronic soundscapes. Iconic reggae superstar Shaggy offers a nostalgic yet fresh performance for fans of his classic hit ‘It Wasn’t Me’ as he continues to welcome new audiences discovering his hits online. With a career full of accolades and millions of album sales, the charismatic Mr. Boombastic will be ready to spread nothing but positive energy at Electric Castle.

Always catering for those with heavier tastes, Electric Castle 2025 delivers Swedish punk legends Refused, making the festival one of the stops on their farewell tour, while progressive rock icons Leprous debut their latest album live at Electric Castle. Indie rock gets a fresh twist with The Amazons, and gothic rock pioneers The Sisters of Mercy perform haunting highlights from their classic album Floodland.

Elsewhere, the festival will host the best names in dance music, with Netsky b2b NGHTMRE’s high-octane drum and bass, DJ Awards winner Hot Since 82 and the infectious duo Sofi Tukker, all adding to a lineup designed to keep the party going all night long. With much more still to be revealed, the eclectic and innovative lineup continues with artists like rising London art-pop band Soft Launch, ÂME, Joey Valence & Brae, Nilüfer Yanya, and Hospital Records’ Kings of the Rollers, Urbandawn, and Unglued. From Sparrow & Barbossa’s genre-defying performances to Romare’s electronic vibes, the diversity of talent will be unmatched next summer.
