Gearing up for their 5th edition, Wide Awake Festival, situated in Brockwell Park, has become a cultural force, a platform for grassroots music and a celebration of counterculture.
Filling a gap in the London live music scene, Wide Awake brings underground sounds to the forefront and this year’s lineup is no different. Joining the already strong lineup is self-described “BDSM pop” artist COBRAH, New York’s favourite electronic band Fcukers, Grammy-nominated producer Marie Davidson, British singer-songwriter Nadine Shah, London-based post-punk band Warmduscher, experimental electronic artist Chanel Beads and vivacious Irish post-punk and shoegaze band Gurriers.
COBRAH, a Swedish artist rooted in Stockholm’s fetish party scene and LGBTQIA+ community, is known for her self-described “BDSM pop” and “gay workout music” style. Following on from the buzz of tracks like “GOOD PUSS” and “ICON”, her debut album SUCCUBUS, released in 2023, is goth-inspired, club-ready and infused with filthy-pop grit. Get ready to sweat as COBRAH takes the stage at Wide Awake 2025.
New York’s favourite electronic band, Fcukers, have won audiences over ever since their debut live show in March 2023, now touring with Confidence Man and LCD Soundsystem, Fcukers are reigniting NY club culture. Their debut EP, Baggy$$, has been dubbed as modern electronic music with a true party spirit and shows that the band are just here for a good time.
Growing up in Montreal’s DIY scene, performer and producer Marie Davidson, has always defied norms in dance music and has become renowned for her live sets which combine drum machines and live vocals. Her latest album, City of Clowns tackles themes such as surveillance and identity erosion, blending club-ready energy with experimental pop sounds.
Mercury-nominated singer-songwriter Nadine Shah’s sound has often been described as a blend of PJ Harvey and Nick Cave. Her atmospheric, pop and jazz-style indie rock also contains political themes, confronting right-wing nationalism, mental health awareness and women’s rights. Plus, British post-punk band Warmduscher known as “the offspring of a match made in hell between Fat White Family and Paranoid London” will return to the Wide Awake stage after a raucous set in 2023. Also new to the roster is experimental electronic pop artist, Chanel Beads and Dublin-based post-punk, noise rock and shogegaze band Gurriers who’s addictive sound has made them a crowd favourite.
They’ll be joining headliners Kneecap, CMAT, and English Teacher, plus a stacked roster of cutting-edge leftfield artists. With a uniquely crafted lineup you won’t find anywhere else in the UK, Wide Awake is an independent festival for music fans looking for something different.
