LIDO Announces Jamie xx as First Headliner

AEG Presents has announced the inaugural headliner for new festival, LIDO. Saturday 7 June will see  British composer, performer, music producer, artist, Jamie xx top the bill. He will be joined by a specially curated line-up featuring In Waves collaborators Romy, Panda Bear, and John Glacier, alongside acclaimed artists Arca, Sampha, DJ Gigola, Shy One, Wookie, and livwutang. Adding to the bill, Jamie brings his celebrated club residency ‘The Floor’ to Victoria Park for a one-off festival showcase featuring a 3-hour set from DJ Harvey. Tickets go on general sale on Friday 1 November.

Named after Victoria Park’s historic Lido Field, this two-weekend festival will feature carefully curated music line-ups alongside community-driven activities during the week, all with a strong emphasis on sustainability. LIDO will showcase the most current headliners and work closely with them to curate the line ups, reflecting their musical influence.

LIDO welcomes now East London local Jamie xx as the first headliner for 2025. A forward-thinking beatmaker and producer, Jamie xx significantly influenced the sound of the late 2000s and beyond. Known for his work with The xx and his solo dance projects. Whether on record or djing live, Jamie expertly blends a kaleidoscope of genres, finding an emotional quality within the music that underpins and unites dancefloors worldwide.

Jamie xx says: “It’s always an exciting prospect playing in my home town. Having done The Floor and Alexandra Palace this year, it’s time for something else! I’m really looking forward to headlining Victoria Park, curating my own day festival and performing alongside my favourite artists.”

For this show only, LIDO Festival will feature a unique stage called ‘The Floor’, headlined by DJ Harvey. Inspired by Jamie xx’s celebrated series of intimate club residencies (“euphoric, sweat-soaked” – The FACE), Jamie will bring unannounced guests and a custom sound system into an intimate setting within Victoria Park. The Floor started as a huge 10-day residency at Venue MOT in South London, featuring surprise appearances from Charli XCX and George Daniel, Daphni, 2ManyDJs, Jockstrap, DJ Python and more. It has since expanded to the US with five consecutive nights in New York and another residency in LA. LIDO is fans’ only chance to experience Jamie xx’s bespoke dance space next Summer.

Beyond the music, LIDO is committed to making a positive impact on the local community. A key part of this commitment is LIDO’s ongoing partnership with East London Arts and Music (ELAM), providing students with hands-on experience in the creative industry including offering students the chance to perform, as well as vocational opportunities in festival production, technology, and the wider music industry.

As a new festival in Tower Hamlets, organisers, AEG will bring substantial benefits to the local area, including improvements to the park itself. Echoing the success of AEG’s neighbouring East London festival, All Points East, which contributes over £45 million to the local economy each year, LIDO will similarly engage local suppliers, employ local staff, and boost local spending on accommodation, food, and entertainment. The festival’s midweek programme will also provide free, high-quality arts, culture and wellbeing activities, offering a platform for local talent to shine and enriching the area’s cultural landscape.

With the full line-up coming soon, LIDO will showcase the most current headliners and work closely with them to curate the line ups, reflecting their musical influences and passions, with a strong focus on emerging artists. LIDO is dedicated to supporting the growth of music in the UK, providing a platform that not only celebrates today’s talent but also inspires and nurtures the next generation of headliners, all in a responsible and sustainable way.

LIDO’s philosophyis that future of live music and festivals should be a sustainable one. From the outset, LIDO will implement and then continually develop sustainable policies and processes ranging from how festival is powered and how waste is disposed of through to partnering with local food vendors to ensure maximum efficiency, simplify, strengthen, and minimise the impact  supply chains and the community.
