Winner of the fan vote at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, Baby Lasagna will be kicking off the 24th edition of the EXIT festival. Following Konstrakta’s virtuoso performance at the Fortress in 2022, Baby Lasagna is the first regional artist to headline EXIT.
“We are extremely proud that someone from our region emerged victorious among the Eurovision audience, especially with a rock and roll number. It’s fantastic to see urban sounds gaining more prominence at Eurovision,” said EXIT festival founder and director Dušan Kovačević.
Baby Lasagna, also known as Marko Purišić, first appeared as a solo artist less than a year ago. However, by participating in the Croatian selection for the Eurovision representative – Dora, he immediately solidified his position in the music scene, not only in the region but also globally. Baby Lasagna garnered by far the most votes from fans of the television spectacle, from over 100 countries worldwide, and although he finished in second place, he left Malmo as the uncompromising audience favourite.
The musician from Umag will bring his distinctive sound to the Main Stage of the EXIT festival this July. With his entertaining music and satirical lyrics deeply intertwined with messages about contemporary issues, Lasagna will shake the biggest stage at the Fortress. In addition to the Eurovision mega-hit, which made it to the top 5 of the Global Spotify’s Viral 50 list and has over 4 million views on YouTube, Baby Lasagna has two more songs, “Don’t hate yourself, but don’t love yourself too much” and “IG BOI”, singles that will be featured on his debut album “Demons & Mosquitos”.
This year’s EXIT will also feature Tom Morello, Black Eyed Peas, Gucci Mane, Carl Cox, Alok, Oliver Tree, John Newman Hybrid DJ Set, Maceo Plex, Black Coffee, Ofenbach, Kenya Grace, Steve Angello, Cavalera, Bonobo DJ Set, Sara Landry, Klangkuenstler and Rudim3ntal.
